Public Records Request
Power Apps template · Version 1.0 · Standard edition
Log every public records and FOIA request the day it arrives, see its legal due date counted in business days, and get each response through legal review before it goes out. A deadlines board shows what is overdue and what is due next, so nothing slips past the statutory clock.
Features
Legal due dates, counted for you
Set your response time once, in business or calendar days. The app works out each due date from the date received, skipping weekends and your holidays.
Deadlines board
Every open request by due date: overdue in red, due soon in orange, later in blue. Filter to what is overdue, due soon or assigned to you.
Legal review before release
Staff prepare the response type, exemptions and notes, then send it for legal review. Reviewers approve it for release or return it with comments.
Requester emails
Send the requester an acknowledgment with their reference number and due date, and an extension notice with the reason and new date, from your own Outlook.
Extensions and fees
Extend a deadline with a recorded reason, and track estimated fees, fee waivers and amounts paid.
Paper trail
Every step is logged with who, when and why, plus Print / Save as PDF and Email me a copy for your records file.

Questions
- Do we need premium licenses?
- No. The app uses only the SharePoint and Office 365 Outlook connectors, which most Microsoft 365 plans include.
- Does it work in GCC High?
- Yes. The setup script has a GCC High option, and the Install Guide covers the GCC High app link.
- Our state law gives us 5 days, not 10. Can we change it?
- Yes. Response days, business or calendar days, and the "due soon" warning are settings in one place. The holidays come from a SharePoint list you keep.
- Can the public submit requests through the app?
- No. Requesters don't need accounts. Staff log requests that arrive by email, web form, mail, phone or in person, and the app emails requesters their acknowledgment and any extension notice.
